• How Converse Became the Biggest Little Sneaker Brand on Facebook
    – What I find particularly interesting with this is the intersection we see here with social media and with CSR. Converse in this case is listening and try to provide value to their customers. In this case the value Converse is bringing to their customers is a music studio for the music community to use. Social media has here essentially been the channel where they see what kind fans they have as I understand it and then Identified in what way they can help them and provide value to them in the best way. By the logic of the gift economy they get more value back in terms of more engaged fans. A win-win situation as any relationship really is.

  • Message to Apple — makeITfair
    – I’m all for this. Apple really needs to pull its act together. I mean they are the second biggest corporation on earth. Getting billions of profit. They can afford to spend the money on doing good. Besides, putting your money into sustainability will in the end be profitable by saving resources, getting better PR and more engaged staff.

However, somehow I don’t think Apple will really listen to this. Somehow I think that Apple needs to hear this from their true core fans. People Apple identify themselves with. Who says what matters after all.
  • The Sharing Economy | Fast Company
    – This is such a great in depth article about sharing. In a sense sharing began with us all sharing our lives, status updates and photos. Conditioned to share and by having built social capital to all these strangers around us we are now able to take the next step. Share tangible stuff with strangers. Will it work? I’m positive it will. It will definitely be some stumbling along the way as with social media. But I’m positive this will turn out to be a big trend.
